Queen Elizabeth II has met Paddington Brown in book and television, but has not yet met him in a film. However, in 2022, Ben Whishaw and Simon Farnaby, the co-writer of Paddington 2, partnered with Buckingham Palace to present a skit in which Paddington meets the Queen.
Queen's Platinum Jubilee 2022 Sketch[]
The Queen's Platinum Jubilee in 2022 was preceded by a short skit featuring Queen Elizabeth II and Paddington having tea. This skit ran for two-and-a-half minutes and was kept secret by Buckingham Palace, BBC Studios and Heyday Films/Studiocanal until its release before the concert.
The sketch was kept so completely secret that even Her Majesty’s children and grandchildren were said to have been taken by surprise.[1]
