Paddington Station, a Central London railway terminus and London Underground station complex, located on Praed Street in the Paddington area. The site has been the London terminus of services provided by the Great Western Railway since 1838.
In Paddington[]
Paddington Station features heavily in every incarnation of Paddington, whether it be novel, TV series or film. The key reason for this is that the station is the origin of Paddington's name, and where Paddington was found by the Browns when he first arrived in London.
Elizabeth Line: Newest Subway Line[]
The central section of the new line, between Paddington in central London and Abbey Wood in the south-east, is due to open in December 2018. Whereupon that section and two other existing routes will be officially renamed the Elizabeth Line as Queen Elizabeth II.
At each end of the central core, the line will divide into two branches: in the east to Abbey Wood and Shenfield in Essex, and in the west to Heathrow Airport and Reading in Berkshire.
